Friday: dancing, raft building, swimming

Today has been a special day.  We had breakfast and then the children left for their English classes, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.  At 10:15 we got on the bus with Mayflower and off we went to Hawkhurst Primary School.  Once there we were warmly received by the 6th grade children who made two lines for us to walk through and join them in their school.  The two Chilean schools had a chance to share break with them, which went very well.  Then we went into their hall and both schools showed the dances we'd prepared.  The Hawkhurst children were a wonderful audience.  Here are some pictures and some video:

After visiting Hawkhurst Primary School, we returned to Bedgebury.  We had lunch and then the children went to their next activity, raft building.  They were separated into three teams.  They had to build their own raft according to the instructions they received and the materials that were handed to them.  They then raced their rafts to a buoy in the lake and back while being closely monitored by the rescue boat.
The results of the race were, well, interesting.  Have a look at the pictures and then at the videos.  They tell quite a story.

And here's the racing competition footage:

Once the regatta was over, the teams had to disassemble their rafts and leave everything neatly tucked away. The crews then went for a shower and on to their next activity, swimming.  We took some pictures and some video.

And here's the video at the pool.

The last activity of the day was Talent Night.  Camila won the event with the following song:
